Food from the Land - Ancient Foraging and Hunting Skills

Day Workshop: Saturday 24th March AND Saturday 1st September , 10 to 4.30pm, tickets £45

Vav Simon – Elder & practitioner of “The Old Way”

Food for Free!Step into the footsteps of our ancestors and learn about their skills, tools and diet.

Walking the land, we will find food to eat and will prepare a meal. We will learn what is available in each season and where to find it, as well as what to avoid.

Before our forebears began to farm, the people of this land were hunter/gatherers. The basic skills in survival that these people used will be compared to convenient amenities today.

With respect for the land, its plants and animals, we will learn codes of conduct and together we will share our firepit meal and reflect on what we have learned.

Vav Simon was brought up on a Scottish farm where many of these old ways were still alive.

No previous knowledge is required.
Outdoor clothing is advisable.
Bring a knife if you have one.

Refreshments and equipment provided.

No animals will be trapped or killed for this workshop.
