Hedgerow Basket Weaving

Day Workshop: Saturday 11th October, 10 to 5pm, tickets £68, includes organic lunch.

Christina Stapley, herbalist and author

The craft of making baskets is one of the oldest and offers tremendous satisfaction. Hedgerow baskets are full of colour, scent and individuality.

A day primarily for beginners, no previous experience is necessary to enjoy making a basket to take home.

For those with some previous experience, whether of synthetic cane or willow only, the exploration of colours, textures and possible experimentation in using a range of materials in the green state has proved to be inspirational.

Practical experience in the ancient craft of basket weaving and design will lead to a working knowledge of the textures, appearance and flexibility of various natural materials.

Join us for an inspiring day.
No previous experience necessary.

Instruction will be given in choosing the right stems, harvesting times and methods, storage and preparation of weavers and stakes.

A Medical Herbalist, Christina has written several books on herbs and their uses. She has grown over 300 herbs in her garden, which has been featured on television and is often open to the public.
