Herbs for Health  - Repeated due to interest from previous workshop!

Day Workshop: Saturday 24th May, 10 to 5pm, tickets £68, includes lunch.

Christina Stapley, herbalist and author

This workshop celebrates our native herbs grown for use for medicinal purposes.

Guided by medical herbalist Christina Stapley, this is a day to learn about practical and safe home use of herbs. We will look both at hedgerow and garden herbs.

From gathering to drying and storing, we will learn about their use in herb teas, foot or handbaths and soothing pillows.

Then we will turn to methods of preserving fresh herbs in honey or honey syrups, oils or vinegars.

Christina has been growing, studying and using herbs for over 30 years. She has written several books on herbs and their uses. Her own herb garden has been featured on television and is often open to the public. She has grown over 300 herbs in her garden.

We will look at herbs in diet, teas and fragrant preparations to ease stress and herbs to treat everything from insect bites to sore throats or heartburn in a simple first aid kit.

Effective traditional herbs featured include marshmallow, elder, fennel, meadowsweet, agrimony, lavender, oregano, calendula, houseleek and ribwort plantain.

Join us for an inspiring day !
